The consultation
The first 30 minutes of your consultation are free, in person or by video. A typical consultation lasts about an hour, and time beyond the first 30 minutes is billed against your case charges. You'll leave with a recommendation, a fee quote and a clear sense of next steps, whether or not you move forward.
Estate planning packages (flat fees)
Essentials
Best for: Individuals with a simpler estate
Will, financial and medical powers of attorney, directive to physicians, HIPAA release, declaration of guardian
Flat fee, quoted at your consultation
Trust-based plan
Best for: Privacy, property in more than one state, blended families
Revocable living trust, pour-over will, all Essentials documents, help funding the trust (retitling your assets)

Couples
Best for: Married couples
The Essentials or Trust-based plan for both spouses

Special needs planning
Best for: Families with a loved one with a disability
Third-party special needs trust and coordinated estate plan

Probate, trust administration and guardianship
Probate and guardianship matters are billed hourly, and Jonathan gives you a written estimate before work begins. Trust administration is quoted after he learns the details. Court costs, filing fees and other expenses are separate, and he'll tell you what to expect.
What working together looks like
- Consultation. Talk through your situation and goals.
- Engagement letter. You receive a written agreement describing the work and the fee.
- The work. Jonathan drafts documents or handles the court process and keeps you updated.
- Review. You review everything and ask questions before anything is final.
- Completion. Signing, filing or closing, plus a summary of what was done and what to keep.

Jonathan returns calls and emails within two business days. You'll always know who is handling your matter: him.
